Born in 1919, in the land that gave the name, the carpets, still created today in Beiriz, are the result of the passion of a family for this art that crosses time.
Hilda d'Almeida Brandão Rodrigues Miranda, who built a small workshop and later a factory together with an assistant, Rita Conceição. They invented the "Beiriz knot".
Beiriz carpets are made with cut wool, manufactured in very rustic wooden looms, and their stitches brought them fame.
They feature original designs with flowers as a predominant theme.
